Constable Richard McCain had his first debate against challenger Sally Hernandez at the Circle C Democratic Debate held at Santa Rita Restaurant in Circle C.
- Hernandez cited officer training and education as the first of her two main priorities.
- McCain has successfully trained not only his officers, but his community by participating in the Missing and Exploited Children Identification Program and fingerprinting over 22,000 children in Travis County.
- McCain has also increased neighborhood patrols at the request of neighborhoods in Precinct 3.
- Hernandez cited diversifying the Constable’s office as her second priority.
- McCain to date, has the most racially diverse employee base with the highest number of female employees out of any Travis County Precinct.
- Hernandez is currently serving as Chief of Investigations, under Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.
- McCain has been serving Travis County as the Constable for Precint 3 for over six years.
